Title:Project Accountant & Contract Coordinator

Location: New York, NY

Office: In office Four Days a week (Remote Fridays and additional optional Remote Days)

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer and Senior Managing Principal


Position Overview:

Our New York City office is looking for an Project Accountant & Contract Coordinator with prior project accounting experience to join our AMA Design Build team. This is a hands-on, independent role that offers an opportunity to be a part of a growing team: a successful candidate will be self-motivated and proactive. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Managing Principal.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Project Accountant & Contract Coordinator for AMA Design Build you will be responsible for assisting the project team with the financial management of multiple construction projects ranging in size from $5,000 to $15,000,000 in size across multiple states.


Responsibilities will be but not limited to the following:

  • Establish projects in accounting software (Sage 100), company network and payroll software (Deltek).
  • Create and issue subcontractor & vendor contracts/purchase orders/insurance requests, enter information into insurance compliance software (Docutrax) and follow up as required to obtain all necessary documents.
  • Coordinate reviews and ensure compliance of all insurance documents with the Project Engineer.
  • Review and issue weekly insurance tracker for all projects from Docutrax to the various project teams.
  • Create and issue Certificate of Capital Improvement Certificates (CCI’s) and follow up with clients to ensure all documents are fully executed.
  • Enter project costs related to client/subcontractor into Sage 100 and coordinate issuance of Bonding Reports at the onset of the project.
  • Enter internal and external change orders into Sage and issue approvals to subcontractors & vendors.
  • Perform weekly bonding report review for all projects and issue update to the senior management team.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as needed by client or management.
  • Generate monthly invoices for all projects using excel and AIA software’s.
  • Issue a track receipt of all client invoices.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline


Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience as Project Accountant; having worked in the following industries is strongly preferred: construction or engineering
  • Working knowledge of Sage 100 required
  • Experience working on cross functional teams within different offices
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • High attention to detail

Salary: $70 – 100k per year


Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
