Wound Care Nurse

What We're Looking For:  

Searching for a full time or part time Wound Care nurse to join our team. We are committed to serving our patients and helping them return successfully and safely to the community, as well as helping our residents live a healthy happy life while residing in the facility.  

This position is open to RNs and LVNs.  

What You’ll Do: 

The purpose of this job is to provide primary skin care to residents under medical direction and supervision with an emphasis on treatment, therapy of skin disorders, and prevention. Duties also include daily charting, assessment of wound supply needs, ordering and tracking related specialty equipment.  

Duties may include : 

 Provide resident care including carrying out physican’s orders for care, including providing medication and treatment 

 Perform treatments in a manner that protects the dignity and self-respect of the resident.  

 Accurately observe and assess wounds and pressure sores with prompt notification of physicians of lack of progress in healing or deterioration with the current treatment and or signs/symptoms of infection. 

 Ensure appropriate Wound Care management services are included in the plan to promote healing which incudes but are not limited special mattresses and nutritional supplements.  

 Assist in preparing and updating care plans for treatment-related issues. 

 Report significant findings or changes in condition and potential concerns to RN Supervisor and /or Director of Nursng (DON) 

What You’ll Bring: 

 Ability to read, write, and speak English. 

 Possession of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university. 

 2 years or more experience preferably in a long-term care facility.  

 A friendly and caring bedside manner. 

 Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
