The Worship Leader for First Methodist Church of Oviedo leads worship for all contemporary worship services and oversees, mentors, and spiritually guides the praise team and praise band volunteers.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides leadership, vision and passion in the area of contemporary worship that is in line with the overall vision and mission of the church.
· Leads and facilitates weekend contemporary worship services and other special worship services throughout the year.
· Selects music for weekly worship services.
· Leads vocal and band rehearsals and ensures that all musicians and vocalists have what they need to adequately prepare for rehearsals.
· Maintains a rehearsal and performance schedule for vocalists and musicians.
· Collaborates with pastors to plan and execute meaningful worship experiences that align with the overall vision and mission of the church.
· Mentors vocalists and encourages them lead worship as their giftings allow.
· Creates a budget for contemporary worship.
· Recruits volunteers.
· Grows a music team with good communication and a strong sense of community.
· Familiar with, or able to learn, software programs such as Mainstage, Pro-Presenter, Planning Center Online, and Multi-tracks

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· 2-5 year’s experience leading contemporary worship in a church of comparable size
· GED or High School Diploma required; continued education preferred.
· Can lead worship both vocally and with a guitar and/or keyboard and has a understanding of worship theology
· Strong Musical Abilities
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members, church leaders, and congregation.
· Excellent leadership and organization skills
· Able to work without direct supervision.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment by fostering a positive, non-competitive, and supportive atmosphere.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
