Workforce Development Director

Overview:

Any Louisiana Facility (Houma, Mandeville, Metairie, etc.), LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Workforce Development Director to lead our client’s efforts in building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders in the education and Workforce Development ecosystem.  This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategies to address workforce needs, create a talent pipeline, and align educational programs with our client’s evolving needs.

 

Essential Duties:

·       Relationship Building:

1.       Develop and nurture positive, long-term relationships with K12 schools, higher education institutions, workforce boards, chambers of commerce, and state & local industry representatives.

2.       Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand regional workforce needs and align strategies accordingly.

·       Partnership Development:

1.       Create and implement outreach strategies to establish partnerships with educational institutions and other organizations.

2.       Collaborate with various institutions to develop training programs that align with the company’s workforce requirements, ensuring the creation of clear career pathways for future talent.

·       Project Management:

1.       Manage, coordinate, and conduct Workforce Development projects and activities to meet the company’s talent acquisition goals.

2.       Oversee marketing efforts, including presentations promoting company training programs such as apprenticeships, internships, and boot camps to students and other target audiences.

·       Workforce Development Strategy:

1.       Develop and implement comprehensive Workforce Development engagement strategies to address current and future talent needs.

2.       Stay abreast of industry trends and educational advancements to continually enhance the company’s Workforce Development initiatives.

·       Financial Management:

1.       Source and secure additional funding opportunities to support workforce solutions and programs.

2.       Develop and manage budgets for Workforce Development initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

Requirements/Skills:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Education, Workforce Development).

·       Proven experience in Workforce Development, education, or a related field.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

·       Project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate initiatives.

·       Familiarity with apprenticeships, internships, and other training programs.

·       Knowledge of funding sources and the ability to secure additional resources.

Physical Requirements:

·       Mobility:

o   Ability to travel to various educational institutions, Workforce Development events, and industry meetings within the region.

o   Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.

·       Communication:

o   Proficient oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and engage with diverse audiences.

o   Ability to conduct presentations and participate in meetings, requiring clear and articulate communication.

·       Technology:

o   Competency in using standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and projectors.

o   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

·       Flexibility:

o   Capability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and accommodate changing schedules.

o   Willingness to work evenings or weekends, as necessary, to attend events or meet deadlines.

·       Physical Stamina:

o   Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during presentations, workshops, or events.

o   Stamina to engage in networking activities and build relationships over extended periods.

·       Manual Dexterity:

o   Ability to operate office equipment and handle documents and materials.

o   Capability to set up and manage displays or materials during outreach events.

·       Lifting and Carrying:

o   Capability to lift and carry materials, brochures, and equipment, typically weighing up to 25 pounds.

·       Visual Acuity:

o   Clear vision, including the ability to read documents, use a computer, and navigate various settings.

·       Problem Solving:

o   Ability to think critically and address unforeseen challenges that may arise during events or projects.

·       Collaboration:

o   Capacity to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including educational institutions, industry representatives, and team members.
