College of Human Sciences & Education
Leadership Development Institute
The Director will serve as the chief operating officer of the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) housed in the Dean's Office of the College of Human Sciences and Education. The Director is responsible for the ongoing administrative, programmatic and financial management of the LDI. The Director will effectively collaborate with the Dean's leadership team, other Center/Institute Directors, and the LDI Advisory Board and other stakeholders. Reports directly to the Senior Director of the Leadership Development Institute.
Responsibilities:
30% Review the existing LDI strategic plan and work closely with the LDI Senior Director and LDI Advisory Board in implementing plans for growth of the LDI in line with the strategic plan, College, and University priorities; set LDI goals consistent with the strategic plan and establish clear metrics to assess progress toward goals; direct and administer the LDI with administrative and programmatic responsibilities to achieve stated goals; build collaborative relationships with internal and external constituents to develop and implement teaching, research, and outreach/service activities in line with LDI goals and objectives.
30% Facilitate the creation, implementation, and maintenance of new programs and services; plan, organize, and oversee the implementation of conferences, briefings, workshops, symposia, lecturers, and other events conducted under the LDI umbrella; coordinate LDI activities on and off campus with community and business organizations, student and faculty groups, research centers, and other College and University institutes and centers.
15% Lead fundraising efforts for the LDI, which may include developing grant proposals, outreach to foundations, alumni, professional organizations, and various other individuals and groups to identify and secure financial support; work with the Advisory Board and stakeholders to identify and pursue new funding opportunities and revenue-generating services; manage gifts and grants in line with University and College policy; participate in LDI budgeting and accounting processes in consultation with College and School personnel to support the financial infrastructure of the LDI.
15% Supervise staff (Program Coordinator and Executive Coach) and student employees employed by the LDI; supervise LDI publications and publicity, mailings, the annual report, marketing materials, and website; coordinate with School and College public relations personnel to design, prepare and produce LDI publications, web pages, and publicity materials; represent the LDI to outside constituents and at professional organization meetings and events.
10% Participate in local, regional, and national organizations to assist in elevating the LDI brand and to stay current with best practices in Leadership Development; develop mid-year and annual reports that reflect the growth and progress of the LDI's programs and services. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Education, Human Resource Development, Leadership, Public Administration, Public Policy) with 7 years of experience.

Preferred qualifications: Ph.D in relevant discipline with 5 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in relevant discipline (e.g., Education, HR Development, Leadership, Public Administration, etc.) with five years experience of professional administrative/leadership experience in a higher education setting; experience in grant writing and working on externally-funded projects; proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to conduct statistical analysis using computer software (i.e., SPSS, STATA, and/or Excel)
