Job description

The M365 FastTrack team (part of E+D Engineering group in Microsoft) has a threefold charter focused on driving cloud first product deployments, simplifying customer journey, and optimizing Returns on Investment (ROI).

Workforce Capacity Planning & Investment Analyst - M365 FastTrack

M365 FastTrack is looking for individuals that share in the passion to drive business value and customer success using Microsoft 365 and related technologies. We are looking for results-driven, energetic, and hands-on business analytics professional to develop & implement solutions around workforce capacity and investment analysis. You will be comfortable engaging with leaders and managing priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment. The role requires understanding business problems, applying relevant analytical methodologies and landing insights/recommendations. It is important for you to work successfully in a team environment, build effective working relationships inside and outside the group, and accommodate the working styles of our diverse team. Responsibilities


  • Design, develop & implement Workforce Capacity models, processes, and supporting tools (data elements, usability, and business rules).
  • Develop business insights and strategic perspectives from a variety of sources and use them to define Workforce Capacity for investment prioritization and improving customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Land global and regional resource plans to ensure the right mix of resources are available for achieving organization OKRs (Objective and Key Results).
  • Execute rhythm of business related to workforce planning, capacity measurement, and costing.
  • Influence resource and investment decisions to drive efficiency while maximizing ROI.
  • Support annual and quarterly financial planning processes by maintaining tight integration with finance for ROI analysis and alignment with budgets through a reliable costing model and distribution.
  • Facilitate in-year governance and execute change management to Workforce Capacity models resulting from incremental investment approvals and shift in priorities. Recommend mitigation plans for potential capacity gaps.
  • Execute a regular, structured rhythm of business, prioritization, and communication plan with all stakeholders. Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver actionable insights via simple and intuitive dashboards.

Qualifications

Required / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business operations, business planning and/or reporting, financial analysis
o OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business operations, business planning and/or reporting, financial analysis
o OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Excel, Power Point , other data analytics tools.


Additional / Preferred Qualifications
:

  • Experience with Workforce Capacity Planning, costing and financial processes around budgeting and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to design and implement enterprise business solutions (people, processes, and tools) to capture data for capacity and resource planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with business leaders, leading portfolio of projects, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions, data led story telling.
  • Experience communicating new ideas, in clear presentations, that land with executive management and peer teams – Operations, Engineering, Finance, Delivery, Business Intelligence, among others.
  • Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, flexibility, and above all a passion for customers.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity – can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
  • Demonstrated advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint. Skills in SQL & Power BI are an added advantage.

Business Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
