As the AIR Sr. Manager, Capacity Planning, you will be responsible to identify, design, develop, and execute new processes, policies, goals, and solutions that increase delivery efficiency, delivery speed, reduce errors, decrease costs, and improve the company's overall transportation program, specifically relating to AIR cargo transportation. The Capacity Planning leader will lead a group of Amazonians tasked with managing the air transportation capacity available to customers, balancing speed, cost, and quality to ensure the AIR product consistently delights AIR's broad customer base.

This position requires a valid passport and you must be willing to travel domestically up to 30% of the time.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the leader of the Capacity Planning team at Amazon Air, establishing team goals, processes, and mechanisms to deliver
- Partner with internal business units including peers on Air Network Planning, Engineering, Science and Technology teams, and Operations teams to effectively manage the cost, speed, and on-time performance of the network
- Lead and create a best in class air operation network with appropriate metrics to continuously improve asset utilization, customer speed, and on time delivery performance within the Amazon Air operation
- Communicate effectively with both external (Service Providers, Carriers, Vendors) and internal (Finance, Technology, AMZL Final Mile, Sort Centers, Fulfillment Centers) customers
- Create reports and process improvement initiatives to monitor and react to key network metrics
- Communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams to gain buy-in and deliver to project schedules
- Address barriers through problem solving, communication, and active coordination with stakeholders
- Work within time constraints to meet business critical needs (often managing multiple, time-sensitive, and high priority initiatives simultaneously), while measuring and identifying activities performed and ensuring service requirements are met
- Systematically escalate problems or variances in the operating plan to the relevant owners and teams, following through to resolution to ensure they are delivered
- Navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accept ownership and accountability of the process, and deliver on commitments
- This position has direct management responsibilities in Bellevue, WA and/or Nashville, TN, as well as interactions with our various transportation and technology teams across North America
