Keney Park Sustainability is seeking a Wood Materials Management Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting sustainability in Keney Park. As a Wood Materials Management Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the responsible use and conservation of Wood Materials within our organization.
- Wood Inventory Management:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of Wood Materials, including tracking usage, stock levels, and replenishment needs.
- Implement efficient systems for the storage and organization of Wood Materials.
- Resource Conservation:
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for reducing waste and promoting sustainable wood usage.
- Implement strategies to ensure the responsible and efficient use of wood resources.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Liaise with wood suppliers and vendors to ensure the ethical sourcing of materials.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts to maximize value for the organization.
- Educational Initiatives:
- Develop educational materials and workshops to raise awareness about responsible wood management.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers on sustainable wood practices.
- Develop paid on-the-job training opportunities, including pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships
- Expand workforce development pathways for green careers in urban and community forestry.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Ability to Commute:
- Hartford, CT 06112 (Preferred)
