Job Summary:
Winder/Machine Operator is an entry level position and operates various equipment to produce quality product for Medicoil’s customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. Parts produced tend to be of low complexity.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate or tend wire-coiling machines to wind wire coils which may include:
- Places correct wire on spindle and thread through machine.
- Works with various winding machines, winding different part types and sizes and various wire sizes.
- Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers.
- Checking all specifications during production and detecting any variations.
- Shutting down and notifying a supervisor when there is an apparent failure or quality issue
- Stop machines to remove completed components
- Monitors machines for failures and makes proper adjustments.
- Learn to use inspection tools and test equipment
- Completes necessary paperwork and traveler documentation.
- Follow Medicoil workmanship and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Abides by all Medicoil policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook
- Abides by all Medicoil safety standards and requirements
- Alerts the supervisor and/or Quality Control when nonconformance’s are found
- Responsible for understanding and following ISO 13485 standards and continuous improvements as it relates to this position.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Reading and understanding of customer blueprints preferred
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
3rd shift hours:
Sunday - Thursday from 10 pm to 6:30 am OR
Sunday - Wednesday from 8 pm to 6:30 am
40 hours/week
Overtime available but not mandatory
