Winder/Machine Operator (3rd shift) - Medicoil

Job Summary:

Winder/Machine Operator is an entry level position and operates various equipment to produce quality product for Medicoil’s customers in a timely and cost-effective manner. Parts produced tend to be of low complexity.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operate or tend wire-coiling machines to wind wire coils which may include:
• Places correct wire on spindle and thread through machine.
• Works with various winding machines, winding different part types and sizes and various wire sizes.
• Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, using pliers and wire scrapers.
• Checking all specifications during production and detecting any variations.
• Shutting down and notifying a supervisor when there is an apparent failure or quality issue
• Stop machines to remove completed components
• Monitors machines for failures and makes proper adjustments.
• Learn to use inspection tools and test equipment
• Completes necessary paperwork and traveler documentation.
• Follow Medicoil workmanship and quality standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Abides by all Medicoil policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook
• Abides by all Medicoil safety standards and requirements
• Alerts the supervisor and/or Quality Control when nonconformance’s are found
• Responsible for understanding and following ISO 13485 standards and continuous improvements as it relates to this position.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Reading and understanding of customer blueprints preferred

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
