Wic Program Director

Inland Behavioral and Health Services is seeking a Program Manager for its Women, Infant, and Children’s’ (WIC) program. The WIC Program Manager is responsible for all Inland Behavioral and Health Services, Inc. (IBHS) WIC clinic operations, and acts as the principal liaison to the State WIC Program. Provides supervision, training and professional guidance to support staff. Responsible for the daily implementation and coordination of WIC services according to Inland Behavioral and Health Services, Inc., the State WIC Branch, the WIC Program Manual, and the WIC Contract. The WIC Program Manager represents IBHS WIC in the community and within IBHS itself.

•Referral and Outreach (10%)

•WIC Services Support (5%)

•Breastfeeding Support (5%)

•Representing the IBHS WIC Program (5%)

•Customer Relations (5%)

•Safety (5%)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a current Registered Dietitian certification.

Skills: Ability to relate to and work with people of all ages, social and ethnic backgrounds and maintain participant confidentiality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to convey a sense of confidence and trust to all participants. Ability to carry out administrative and consultative responsibilities with integrity as required. Ability to relate well to other health professionals. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English, bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Knowledge and Education: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and/or MS or M.P.H. with emphasis in Nutrition preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

4 years of management experience required. A minimum of two years of experience as a supervisor in community nutrition, public health or WIC preferred. Supervisory and managerial experience desired.

Physical and Personal Requirements: Normal clinic/office/community environment; see, hear, talk, walk, sit and/or stand for long periods of time, reach, stoop, bend, lift up to 25 lbs.; repetitive hand movement; use and view PC; use calculator, operate fax, copier, telephone and car. Read and write; verbal and written communication, basic math skills, analyze, prioritize, meet deadlines and maintain high standard of confidentiality. Use sound judgment. Move throughout clinics and community. Must have reliable transportation, driver's license and insurance as required by the State.

Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
