Wholesale Power - Data Visualization Analyst Intern

LCRA's Planning and Analysis group seeks an intern for the summer of 2024. As an intern you will learn about and work on APIs one week, power plants and the grid the next, then Data Visualization and advocacy after that. You'll achieve a hybrid approach to energy economics, financial data, and visual tools. You'll write code and build charts that explain Texas's power last year, today, and tomorrow.

You will be trusted to:

Meet with partners to identify business problems and opportunities.
Do research and development on predictive analytics.
Build and maintain dashboards to present data and ideas graphically.
Work with large data sets to glean relevant information.
Formulate business recommendations and alternatives based on your research.
Prepare presentations to present your preferred recommendation.
Explain your recommendations with data and objective logical reasoning.
Explain alternative viewpoints and other options.

You qualify with:

Enrolled in or graduate from an academic program with exposure to data, programming, and statistics.
Understanding/exposure to: SQL, JSON, databases, tables, charts, and/or Data Visualization principles.
Have an interest in solving complex problems.
Know how to collaborate and communicate within a team environment.
Candidate would need to be able to work from Austin, TX.
