Whataburger Restaurant Repair & Maintenance Technician

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The R&M Technician provides services to the restaurants that include diagnoses service issues, replaces, or repairs parts, and adjusts commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC and refrigeration equipment, and building interior and exterior components in assigned restaurants while understanding we are a 24 hour a day / 7 day a week business.
This role will perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable equipment operation. Applies judgement, knowledge, and skill when restoring equipment and facilities to proper operation. Ensures timely and accurate completion of work orders and reporting. Works with and adapts to new or changing technology to effectively manage work orders.
The RDPM MSS R&M Technician works under the supervision and direction of the Director – Maintenance, Safety & Security.
JOB DUTIES

• Maintains proper part inventory and control of inventory to ensure ability to make effective and efficient repairs.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all Whataburger equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), cooking and beverage equipment and refrigerators.
• Communicates continuously and effectively with Maintenance Services Company (MSC) and restaurant leadership.
• Responsible for restaurant interior and exterior maintenance to include basic carpentry and plumbing repairs and intermediate electrical repairs.
• Performs and documents quality repairs that meet the work order priority and customer Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Keeps management advised on status of repair work, schedule and budget for capital expenditure projects in the assigned zone.
• Partners with the Director of MSS to ensure all service work orders are successfully executed.
• Provides support to the operation of Whataburger restaurants 24/7 and keeps the facilities up to the Facilities Brand Standard.
• Reduces costs associated with equipment repairs by proactively planning and organizing assigned work orders.
• The company vehicle will be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines with all evidence readily available for review.

Also, the cleanliness and organization of the vehicle will be maintained in accordance with the company’s expectations.

• Complies with all national, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Experience in repair and maintenance aspects of commercial equipment and facilities
• Restaurant Industry experience is a Plus
• Organizing, utilizing and maintaining systems, processes and best project management practices
