JOB SUMMARY
At Houston Methodist, the Wellness Consultant position is responsible for increasing the utilization of Houston Methodist Wellness Services (HMWS) by informing and educating corporations and other employers about the services, both clinical and non-clinical, offered and the most efficient ways their employees and other constituents can access them. A primary focus of the position is wellness event components and logistics. The Wellness Consultant serves as the primary point of contact in event and program planning.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

PEOPLE - 30%
- Serves as the primary advisor for HMWS corporate clients, per assigned territory, in the greater Houston area. Develops relationships and meets regularly with potential clients educating them about the services provided by HMWS. (EF)
- Understands clinical and non-clinical service lines, logistics, and operations needed to effectively communicate with corporate wellness team, wellness coordinators, Wellness Consultants and health fair teams. Utilizes effective communication skills when working with clients and their employees. (EF)
- Partners with Employer Health Solutions team on HM efforts in each hospital market territory. (EF)
- Conducts self in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity, equity and inclusion principles. Contributes towards improvement of department scores for employee engagement, i.e. peer-to-peer accountability. (EF)
SERVICE - 20%
- Plans, markets, schedules, and coordinates the annual flu campaign for onsite flu clinics. (EF)
- Effectively communicates program expectations, assists in problem solving and acts as a liaison to provide resolution as needed. Serves as contact for program strategy, design and performance. (EF)
- Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks and regularly reevaluates priorities according to business needs. (EF)
QUALITY/SAFETY - 10%
- Effectively communicates any changes in policy, internal guidelines and/or new services and programs. Updates these changes in all necessary documentation, collateral, and other promotional materials. (EF)
- Ensures client satisfaction with services through follow up calls and program survey results. Stays current with and adheres to Affordable Care Act, Stark, IRS and other relevant regulations in accordance with HM policies. (EF)
- Proactively renews contracts to prevent interruption of clinical and non-clinical services. Ensures the timely, complete and accurate exchange of information (written and verbal) and ideas with all stakeholders, including contracts and amendments. (EF)
FINANCE - 20%
- Supports management, leadership in successful achievement of strategic goals and patient volumes, as established by the corporate wellness program and executive health clinic, by leveraging contractual protocols and effective communication with the clinic staff and wellness team. (EF)
- Schedules program events strategically to leverage internal resources, and staffing availability to promote downstream revenue for HM. Provides billing support and answers client inquiries. (EF)
GROWTH/INNOVATION - 20%
- Assists clients in adding HMWS solutions to advance their program including participating in marketing material development. Identifies opportunities to develop new business and assists with development and implementation as assigned. (EF)
- Provides administrative support including presentations, consultations, reviewing/ updating sales documents, legal documents and amendments, providing assistance with RFP/ RFIs and providing account support functions such as coordinating details with clients and sending out marketing materials to enhance participation. Works with corporate clients to define measurable outcomes for program engagement and ROI. (EF)
- Seeks opportunities to identify self-development needs and takes appropriate action. Ensures own career discussions occur with appropriate management. Completes and updates the My Development Plan on an on-going basis. (EF)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
o Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Health Promotion or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
o Three years experience involving hospital operations, population health, corporate event planning, or community outreach
