Wellness Center Office Assistant Job Description
The office of Dr. Ann Miller Chiropractic Care and Weight Loss Center is expanding. We are looking for a friendly, energetic, self-directed and health-minded team player to join our growing practice.
Part-time: 15-20 hours per week with the potential for additional hours, as needed and as required.
The wellness office receptionist provides assistance to patients, doctor, office employees, and other individuals. This employee helps the center run smoothly by scheduling appointments, greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, maintaining accounts and records, and other tasks, as needed. From the moment the patient walks through our door or calls, they should feel like part of the family. Whether in person or over the phone, you are typically the first face or voice our patients will see or hear. Your role in this process cannot be overstated! Candidates who wish to be considered must be flexible and able to multitask.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
· Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
· Checks-in and checks-out patients in a timely, friendly manner
· Outstanding professional phone management skills: manages the telephone system efficiently and politely, minimizing hold time
· Schedule new patient consultations using our scheduling platform; training will be provided
· Comforts patients by answering any questions they may have
· Expedites patient processing over the phone and at the front desk
· Keeps doctor and any other related staff abreast of scheduling, patient details, and potential service delays
· Helps maintain office inventory; may place orders for office supplies and schedule service for office equipment repairs
· Protects patients’ right of confidentiality; mandatory familiarity with HIPAA
· Schedules testing and procedures for patients as necessary
· Cross-training in various aspects of patient care
Skills and Qualifications:
· Office receptionist experience preferred
· Must be able to multitask effectively; critical time management skills necessary, *this is very important*
· Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and companies alike
· Excellent customer service skills
· Pleasant phone demeanor
· Computer skills required; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite mandatory

Pay: starting at $15.75 per hour; may vary depending on work experience, increase may happen after probationary period
