Assist with maintenance of docks & equipment associated with the boats & barges tying off & pushing against. Includes fenders, bumpers, & bulkheads. Includes concrete work, dirt work, steel work, chipping, coating, & timber replacement. Repair spalling concrete, chip, blast, & coat steel, perform weld repairs; install cathodic protection stations & various other labor.
Tasks Associated with this role:
- Structural steel repair to include: welding, patching, cutting, fitting
- Support and repair of equipment associated with the work conducted
- Support of team during welding/ cutting down time
Must Have from Candidates:
- Active TWIC card in hand
- Active Texas Driver License in hand
- Reliable transportation
- Reliable cell phone
Required Qualifications from Candidates:
- Able to manual arc weld, manual electrode weld, manual metal arc weld or shielded metal arc weld (SMAW)
- Able to effectively operate and use a cutting torch
- Willing to work and assist on other projects when weld/ cutting work is not available
Preferred Qualifications from Candidates:
- Experience operating a telehandler/off-road forklift.
- Experience with rigging straps, chains, ropes to secure loads.
- Experience operating and maintaining welding/ cutting equipment
- Comfortable working over and around water.
- Comfortable working at various heights.
- Ability to work in adverse conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to drive and safely operate heavy duty pickup trucks and trailers.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to follow basic directions.
- Willingness to function as part of a team.
