Fabricator
Responsible for the set-up, lay-out, tack-up & production welding of various precision frames and brackets. Ability to tack up structures to tight tolerance. Ability to weld out precision frames to exact tolerances. Ability to produce final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sanders. Move parts and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility. Diagnose mechanical problems, repair and rebuild equipment; check and schedule work with other company departments; weld, paint and other duties as required.
- Tig & Mig weld milled steel, aluminum and stainless steel.
- Weld both vertical & horizontal plane geometry.
- Understand various edge preps before welding.
- Good understanding of set up techniques
- Perform assigned work by connecting columns, beams and grinders with appropriate bolts based on blue prints and instructions.
- Read and interpret sections or blue prints to determine the precise locations, quantities and sizes of the required materials for use.
- Handle fastening of various structural steel members to hoist cables by using chains, cables or rope requiring pulling, pushing or prying structural steel members into an approximate position for bolting into place.
- Perform unloading and ascertaining the position of prefabricated steel units for hoisting required; handle cutting, bending, welding, of steel pieces, metal shears, torches and or welding equipment to complete the task.
- Strengthen vertical and & Horizontal alignment of the structural steel members by using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits and or levels and initiate fabrication of metal parts like steel frames.
- Place structural steel members into final positions by means of turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks or hand tools.
- Deal with formation of metal and or precast concrete components for building towers, storage tanks, feces and guard rails.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow oral and written directions.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of standard materials, tools and equipment and skill in the use and care of tools. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policy, handbook, etc. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to read and write English.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and 7s pounds occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity and visual acuity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
