Sloan Security Group, Inc. is an award-winning high-security perimeter/barrier integration and construction company based in Boise, Idaho.
We are currently seeking Metal Fabricators/Welders for our Sloan Metal Solutions (SMS) fabrication and welding shop. (SMS) serves the security industry and various contractors by providing custom metal design, fabrication, and installation of aluminum, stainless and structural steel projects. With our full-service fabrication shop we are able to deliver structural steel projects up to four stories, as well as full suite of misc. metal projects. Join our fabrication team today!
General Summary:
Seeking a qualified fabricator/welder to perform skilled work in the following areas including, but not limited to:
- Material handling (overhead crane, forklift, etc.)
- Cutting and general forming
- Fabrication (layout, fit-up, welding, grinding)
- Product installation and servicing
- Machine maintenance and repair
- Pick-up and delivery of parts, product, and materials
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience fabricating steel, aluminum and/or stainless steel
- Understanding of various welding processes including, but not limited to, MIG and FCAW
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Prior overhead crane and forklift experience
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years or older
- Fluent in English
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility
- Adherence to company safety standards and practices
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Capable of multitasking and seamlessly switching between projects
- Ability to work overtime when necessary

- Must have physical condition and stamina sufficient to prolonged periods of standing, assist in lifting, carrying and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with hearing and eyesight acuity to detect machinery noises, read gauges, measurements and properly utilize equipment provided.
- Shop conditions vary with the seasons and type of work being conducted. Must be willing and able to work in extreme temperatures (below freezing and in excess of 100*F) and in dangerous/hazardous environments that are commonly encountered in this industry.

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. Primarily indoors, employee is occasionally exposed to outside elements when oversight is required in fabrication areas. The employee will be subjected to working near or with moving mechanical equipment at times and will require hearing & eyesight acuity to detect these machinery noises.
