SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
As a Welder you will be working with entry level assemblies securing and welding metal parts using a pulse welder, operating overhead hoists or cranes, using hand tools appropriate for the job, and reading and interpreting basic blueprints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Able to learn to read and build from blueprints to create quality welds (MIG).
- Prepare product(s) to be welded by reading blueprints and utilizing fixturing.
- Responsible for identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location within the shop operating a forklift, if trained.
- Ensures all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
- Able to learn and operate manual wire feed welders and automatic welders while utilizing appropriate welding wire, heat, arc, speed, depth, and weld bead size.
- Able to learn to weld in all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical down.
- Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by standards.
- Tagging and identifying all finished weldments
- Able to work in 1-3 work centers at 75% or greater efficiency
- Perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
- Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
- Ability to use linear and other measuring devices.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
