Welder Fitter

We are looking to add an experienced MIG/TIG welder-fitter to our team!

Under direction, the Welder-Fitter lays out, fits, and fabricates metal components to assemble structural forms by using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read prints, layout, fit, check, and weld in multiple positions.
• Must be detail oriented and prior welding experience a must.
• High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of experience in MIG, TIG and Stick welding, and at least 1 year knowledge or experience of blueprints and tools.
• Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with those contacted in course of work
• Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Ability to read and interpret English as related to documents such as safety rules, material specification drawings, procedures, bill of material, tape measure and blueprints.
• Ability to recognize defective parts and notify supervisor.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Must be physically capable of executing the daily requirements of the job (able to lift up to 25 pounds, standing, kneeling, bending and climbing).
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and clean drug screen.
• Ability to operate a forklift and an overhead crane.

Responsibilities:

• Weld and fabricate assigned product parts in accordance with established standards and production guidelines.
• Use a variety of welding techniques to create structural designs.
• Perform spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
• Notify supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.

Must pass weld test and drug screening. Compensation range based on ability and experience. Health, dental, optical and life insurance coverage available, as well as a Simple IRA with 3% match.

• 10 hour shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
