Vanmark Equipment is a custom stainless steel equipment manufacturing company serving the food industry. We are seeking an experienced individual with 2+ years of experience in welding and fabrication of stainless steel parts and equipment.
Function & Responsibility
Perform TIG/MIG welding and fabrication of custom stainless steel equipment and parts using supplied engineered drawings and/or blueprints while holding tolerances.
- Perform welding, grinding, and finishing of tubing, sheet, and pipe to meet expectations.
- Set up and calibrate TIG and MIG welders with the correct welding program.
- Set up gas mixing equipment as required for proper function.
- Be able to meet or exceed the requirement of the project through manual fabrication such as alignment, scribing, cutting/coping, grinding, polishing, tacking, and welding while maintaining established tolerances.
- Must be able to produce vacuum tight welds in hard-to-reach areas of chambers.
- Ability and understanding of how to identify the proper order of fabrication and welding operations.
- Assemble equipment and manufactured parts using engineered drawings.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and engineered drawings.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
- Ability to work with team members and provide leadership to lower level welders.
- Have knowledge and be comfortable with the use of hand tools such as saws, grinders, and drills.
- Must be familiar with the effects of welding, grinding, and polishing on stainless steel.
- Must have solid knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Ability to take direction from supervisors.
- Ability to meet or exceed job schedule timelines.
- Must pay close attention to details while fabricating, welding, and reading engineered drawings.
- Safely operate and use forklifts.
- Understand and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work rules.
- Minimum of two years’ experience required.
