Position Summary: This is a great opportunity to work in a respected clinic as a Weight Loss Specialist. Successful candidate must be able to multi-task while maintaining good patient and staff relations along with providing outstanding customer service while working one-on-one with patients in a Weight Loss setting. Must maintain a professional image in the office and in all communications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with patients one-on-one to establish goals for Weight Loss and lifestyle intervention.
- Teach Weight Loss tools and techniques including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and health behavior change
- Ability to, with proper training, take body composition and vitals measurements, use computer programs to track patient information, follow written and oral instructions, and place phone calls.
- Coordinate with providers and other medical staff to ensure the best possible patient care.
Qualifications:
- Well qualified senior Public Health/Community Health and Wellness/Exercise and Wellness (or similar field) student or graduate interested in motivational interviewing/health coaching in a Weight Loss setting.
- Possess good time management skills, exhibits professionalism in dress and in language.
- Knowledgeable in a variety of general health topics, specifically nutrition, physical activity, and health behavior change.
- Experienced in presenting before groups, planning health based lessons, working one-on-one with clients, and working well with others.
- Punctuality and reliability are imperative.
** Spanish language skills are useful but are not required.
