Responsible for maintenance, service, and repair for tunnels, buildings, electrical/mechanical equipment, signs, etc. in accordance with contractual standards and as directed by the supervisor. Also responsible for providing initial response in the event of an emergency in the tunnel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides basic maintenance and repair of tunnel, buildings, emergency response equipment, electrical/mechanical equipment, ventilation systems, lighting, emergency telephones, CCTV systems, doors, and other item using hand tools or powered equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic ,gas, and electric).
- Painting and restoration of thes tagging area light poles, curbs, sidewalks, and other designated
- Maintain clean appearance of facility through cleaning and litter/debris removal and
- Must be comfortable working from heights in a bucket truck or using
- Keeps roadways free of debris, including ice and snow using snow removal
- Transports crew and equipment to works ites operating large
- During an emergency, specific duties shall be designated by the Tunnel Operator or
- Creates safe maintenance of traffic (MOT)by setting up and removing traffic control devices, including cones, temporary signage, etc.
- AssistinandmaintainanorganizedtrafficflowintheBearValleyandWhittierStagingAreasby providing motorists with directions on positioning their vehicles; occasionally reviews all special permits for vehicle travel; assists motorists in the Whittier Staging Area with questions and information related to tunnel rules and regulations.
