Overview
To produce marketing content in a digital media environment in support of corporate communication strategies and enhance online offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develops, designs and publishes digital media communications
- Designs, prototypes, develops, and implements marketing content on electronic media, including Web Pages, using various Web programming languages, graphic software applications, techniques and tools; publishes content
- Collaborates with clients (business units) to develop materials that meet their needs/preferences in compliance with advertising regulations, copyright/trademark laws and policies, and Navy Federal's corporate culture
- Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements
- Serves as resource to Web staff and clients in developing user-friendly formats and producing documents in HTML and other applications
- Creates Web graphics, logos and illustrations to support marketing efforts
- Designs day-to-day communications and corporate-wide corporate promotional materials
- Implements Web-based /interactive media strategies
- Maintains knowledge of graphic design trends and best practices through professional associations, conferences, and seminars
- Administers and updates corporate digital media systems
- Monitors Web Pages and other electronic media, to identify and correct technical and grammatical problems
- Monitors ongoing digital media communication projects to assure timeliness of delivery; provides project status updates to clients and supervisor
- Tracks and measures member usage of the corporate Website to identify trends and recommend ways to enhance the site's effectiveness; prepares reports
- Recommends changes to Website to improve system functionality and enhance its effectiveness; updates content of electronic media
- Evaluates information on the use of Web/Internet applications/technologies and marketing trends; determines feasibility of applications/technologies and makes recommendations
- Participates in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients and supervisor to determine project requirements and objectives
- Participates in analysis and development of new and innovative ways to improve member service using Website and other forms of electronic media to enhance marketing communications
- Maintains log of assignments and provides statistical data to supervisor
- Functions as senior Web Designer and mentors Level I Web Designers
- Leads system-wide complex projects involving multiple components
- Responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems
- Functions as liaison with clients in developing, integrating and implementing projects
- Troubleshoots technically advanced problems and recommends appropriate actions
- Trains other section staff on graphic techniques
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience designing and maintaining a corporate, Website
- Proficiency in PC and Internet/Web-based technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and PHP, Lotus Notes, Web Content management software, editing and authoring tools and development languages
- Proven ability to create interactive media that adheres to overall user-experience goals
- Ability to act independently while exercising initiative and judgment and to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to train, guide, and mentor others
- Familiarity with marketing communication principles and skills in designing Web Pages
- Skills in creating interaction designs that have strong application to our members through visual design and interaction behavior using HTML, scripting languages and related software applications
- Proficiency in MAC and PC Web design applications and skill in manipulating files in both
- Strong research, analysis and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualification
- College degree or coursework in computer science/information systems, visual communications, interactive media involving design or development of computer programs/applications
- Experience supporting SharePoint and Nintex workflows
