Async-Nu Microsystems is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with more than a decade of experience designing/redesigning, developing, and performing the Operations and Maintenance of websites. Our team has worked extensively with the most popular open-source web Content Management System (CMS) Drupal and WordPress.
Async-Nu Microsystems is looking for a Part-time User Experience (UX)/ Analyst or Web Designerwith specific knowledge and experience working on front-end public-facing websites on desktop and mobile devices. The position will be in support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to modernize and design a robust website.
Responsibilities:
- Improve information architecture, web content, and search functions so users can easily find information.
- Continually measure user experience and make modifications as needed.
- Implement responsive design to accommodate customers using devices of any size or orientation.
- Follow consistent web style and best practices for good website design (e.g., visual appeal, accessibility, search engine optimization).
- Improve Section 508 compliance when developing new and/or modifying existing applications.
- Optimize and standardize user experience (UX) across all types of mobile and non-mobile devices and screens.
- Work closely with a team of developers to create prototypes, test products and ensure that the final product meets all requirements.
- Serves as primary User Experience analyst to assess web metrics and other relevant information to guide the development of a redesign that optimizes website user experience.
- Serves as primary Web Designer to develop and customize themes, sub-themes, templates, plugin integration, and/or additional custom Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- Conduct baseline usability testing of alternative visual designs and Information Architecture (e.g., test navigation/labels) to assess improvements in user performance and satisfaction.

Qualifications:
- At least four (4) years of UX and Web Design experience working on front end public facing websites on both desktop and mobile devices.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar field
