Job Description

We are seeking a Website Designer/Administrator for the usafa.edu website, who will also serve as the supplementary website designer for usafa.mil, academyadmissions.com, and sharepoint.usafa.edu. The selected candidate must know internet technologies, protocols, usability concepts like navigational aids, site architecture, web-based applications, accessibility technologies, and copyright laws to independently design and develop functional solutions for public and private websites.
• Working knowledge of WordPress and SharePoint
• Working knowledge of the use of plug-ins for WordPress including security and event management (the site currently uses Wordfence and Events Calendar)
• Collect and define user requirements, design technical site plans, test plans, database use, layouts, navigation, and other technical specifications
• Ensure content is accessible, fully functional, and adapted in standard mobile and web browsers including Google Chrome, Google Android, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Samsung Internet, and Opera
• Provide live broadcast setup, services, and distribution via the usafa.edu website for high-visibility events to include prominent speakers, graduation ceremonies, Superintendent speeches, etc.
• Coordinate with other contractors, vendors, and government personnel as necessary
• Create custom web objects, animations, graphics and interfaces predominantly using HTML, CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript, and occasionally PHP, SQL, and XML
• Conduct user acceptance testing, 508 compliance testing, and 404 error identification and institute the necessary resolutions
• Manage the AWS environment including server CPU utilization, task errors, error logs, etc.
• App management on Apple and Google Play stores for certification renewals, approving new app versions, and other required tasks
• Other tasks as defined to support the Academy
Job Requirements
• Relevant bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field, or relevant AS degree and 4 years of experience
• Must have 2+ years of experience in a related field
• The ideal candidate has direct experience in Air Force or DOD environment
• Fluent in HTML5, CCS, JavaScript, JQuery, and related web technologies

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. This position may also require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
