SUMMARY
Responsible for providing leadership to, and oversight of the Quality Control organization at the site. Is ultimately responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring all maintenance is conducted in accordance with regulations and approved standards. In coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor, ensures that all aircraft are maintained in accordance with approved technical data, and all aircraft are in an airworthy condition prior to release for flight. Administers the Quality Program and keeps the Quality Control manager informed of all matters pertaining to the Quality Control function.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides daily supervision to the Quality Control employees in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
- Develops/ approves the department work schedule
- Plans and coordinates essential activities
- Perform audits of aircraft logbooks and post flight pack reviews to ensure process and procedures are in compliance with the published document procedures
- Reviews and 'approves locally developed procedures affecting the Quality control dept.
- Serves as the final local authority for approval or rejection of maintenance work accomplished
- Reviews and interprets local quality escape data in order to provide creative solutions for improvement
- Monitors compliance of Quality Control aircraft records and documentation
- Monitors training and certification requirements of Quality control Department
- Review and process all incoming directives received through the Technical Publications Library in the form of Service Bulletins (SB), Safety of Flight (SOF), Action Messages (ASAM/AMAM), Airworthiness Directives (AD), etc. Determine applicability and distribute throughout the program via Quality Control Memorandums
- Perform acceptance inspections of aircraft received from vendors or repair facilities, to include but not limited to; in-process inspection, final quality, flight safety inspections and functional operational tests performed during organizational, intermediate and depot level maintenance, modification and repair of aircraft systems and/or associated
- Inspect maintenance performed on aircraft and components consisting of removal, installation, repair, replacement, modification, disassembly, and reassembly in accordance with appropriate OEM manuals and/or technical publications
- Ability to travel to CONUS and/or OCONUS locations to provide field support
- Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION
REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or GED.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
PREFERRED
- A.A./A.S or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- FAA Inspection Authorization a plus.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
- Minimum seven years of experience, of which five must be specialized in supporting an aviation/aerospace program
- Position requires a U.S. Security Clearance
- Spanish level II proficiency for LATAM positions
PREFERRED
- Previous aircraft inspector on at least one of the following platforms: H-60, Bell Huey, DHC-8 and B1900.
- Knowledge of Army Regulations 95-1, DA / DOS PAM 738-750 / 751, ATP 3-04.7 and/or Air Force Technical Orders System
