Job Purpose: The Service Technician is responsible for patient equipment delivery, set-up and instruction. The Company emphasizes a team approach and expects every person to perform any reasonable task or request that is consistent with fulfilling company objectives.
Typical Physical Demands: Regular use of hands to manipulate office equipment, phones and computer keyboard, and to set up and demonstrate equipment. Frequently sit and stand to do clerical work, including maintaining files and reports, as applicable. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 150 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle safely.
Typical Work Conditions: Work is performed primarily in the field setting (patient residence, healthcare facilities, etc.) Employee frequently interacts directly with staff members, customers, and others during the workday.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Loads equipment from warehouse onto delivery vehicle. Ensures that all equipment and supplies delivered are clean, free of dust, and are in good working condition; secures all equipment properly for transport.
2. Delivers and sets up home medical equipment and supplies to homecare patients, with particular attention to the time of delivery requirements, as indicated on delivery tickets.
3. Instructs patients/caregivers on the basic use of equipment, and provides written instructions, as well as product literature, with the patient, as applicable.
4. Informs customers about Company, including hours of operation and contact information. Reviews client rights and responsibilities, and other necessary documentation.
5. Performs basic home safety assessments and ensures that customer is informed about product safety.
6. Obtains patient/caregiver signature on necessary documentation to facilitate billing processes. Returns completed forms promptly to office staff for processing and filing.
1. Assesses if repairs are best performed in the home setting or at the warehouse. When required, provides repair services in the customer’s home.
2. Picks up equipment to be returned to the Company location. Loads equipment in vehicle, ensuring proper segregation of dirty equipment from clean, and returns the equipment to designated “dirty” area of the warehouse.
3. Strictly adheres to Company policy and procedure for infection control and safety.
4. Properly maintains Company vehicle and ensures vehicle safety. Ensures vehicle maintenance schedule is followed. Performs daily vehicle safety checks; maintains and cleans vehicle interior as needed, and organizes vehicle interior. Cleans vehicle exterior as needed. Always wears seat belt when vehicle in operation.
5. Assists the Distribution Manager, as required, and participates in inventory control.
6. Participates in Certified Repair Center (CRC) training program, as applicable.
7. Provides on-call coverage to meet all emergency needs, as determined by the triage on-call personnel.
8. Maintaining compliance with the Company Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Compliance Plan, Company policies and procedures, and local, State and Federal laws and regulations, as applicable.
9. Participation in continuing education, such as Company-required in-service education, educational workshops and/or industry-sponsored educational workshops, self-development seminars on management and leadership, as directed by supervisor and/or Senior Management , and as applicable.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Senior Management.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum of High School graduate (diploma) or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in mechanical assembly and/or repair of mechanical or electronic devices is preferred. Familiarity with hand and shop tools is also preferred.
Current State Driver’s license and good driving record are necessary.
Must have the ability to deal with customers in a pleasant, patient and effective manner. Strong communications skills are required.
Computer skills necessary (keyboarding, use of emailed communication, etc.).
