The Role

To assist the Section Manager in leading Team members, coordinating and delegating workflow and overseeing day to day operation of area; promoting cooperative team relationships, establishing and modifying priorities, gathering metrics, generating reports, overseeing work for multiple job classifications, etc.  Occasionally performing various warehousing functions at a Caterpillar warehouse/distribution facility.

Starting Pay: $23.70/Hour in addition to a $1.00 shift differential. Pay can be adjusted with experience.

2nd Shift Hours: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM Monday - Thursday and 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Friday

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:  

• At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service 

• Effectively demonstrate the core values of SPM Oil & Gas 

• Follow all written policies and procedures safely without deviation or refer to upper management for guidance 

• Exhibit and always advocate exemplary safety culture 

• Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic 

• Always exhibit a high degree of integrity 

• Unload, stock and inventory all deliveries 

• Assist with new orders, cycle counts and RFID operations 

• Read and understand SOPs and Risk Assessments 

• Ability to understand Inventory Control Process 

• Exhibits equipment and product understanding 

• Ability to read work orders and follow verbal instruction 

• Counts, weighs, secures, tags, palettize and stacks materials and maintains accurate records of material movement 

• Maintains work area, machines, and equipment 

• Operates and inspects industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products  

• Assists in developing a culture that works to achieve and maintain an accident-free workplace 

• Performs other job duties as assigned 

Basic Qualifications:  

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

• Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills 

• Working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access

• Good attendance record

• Ability to maintain accurate and complete records

Top candidates will also have:

• Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or logistics operation

• Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience

Physical Demands:  

• Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear 

• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus  

• Must be able to wear protective footwear and other PPE as required by the department 

Work Environment:   

• May regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles 

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions 

• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration 

• Noise level: usually moderate
