Directing central warehouse operations including responsibility for purchasing, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing all supplies, materials, tools, and equipment. Work is performed independently with a minimum of supervision from administrative superiors and is reviewed on the basis of efficient warehouse operations and procedures and an adequate inventory of supplies and materials. Ensure stock is rotated on a FIFO basis. Correspond with vendors on back orders, shipping errors, etc. Reconcile paperwork to ensure orders and deliveries match. Ensure all supplies are ordered through proper purchasing policies and restocked to minimum levels. Check perpetual inventory regularly. Review and analyze inventory reports daily. Direct deliveries of assigned supplies; supervise and prepare delivery schedules. Provide data for newly acquired or repaired, condemned, and relocated assets. Coordinate all facility state surplus items and fixed assets. Develop, implement, and evaluate a work plan of tasks performed for each employee. Perform other duties assigned by management as needed.
Work Location: Environmental Services
Work Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, M - F (depending on needs and schedules)

  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of warehouse management.
  • Considerable knowledge of purchasing and shipping methods and practices.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and to plan expenditures within the framework of a budget.
  • Ability to estimate the amount and type of supplies, materials, and equipment needed.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory control records and reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors and the general public.
  • Ability to supervise the work of subordinate warehouse personnel.
Management Preferences:
  • Valid NCDL
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Organizational Skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of supervisory experience in warehouse or storage operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from an appropriately accredited college or university.
