Fort Dearborn Enterprises, a Chicagoland industrial supplier located in Chicago IL, is looking for a Warehouse Specialist (Full-Time) at our 4419 S Tripp Ave location.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receives, counts and records shipment data into the system.
- Matches packing list information to actual packed merchandise.
- Prepares packages/merchandise for storage.
- Record receiving data using a computer.
- Pack, unpack, and mark stock items, using identification tag, stamp, or electronic marking tool or other labeling equipment.
- Identify incorrect/short shipped items and immediately notify supervisor.
- Deliver products, supplies, and equipment to other warehouses. May operate forklift or other machinery in order to complete tasks.
- Maintains condition of all work areas used (i.e. clean, organized and free of trash, products/inventory in the correct locations, etc.)
- Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
Nature and Scope
- Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, techniques.
- Analyzing performance an employee in this role typically involves a review of output by a senior co-worker or supervisor.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to and over 50 lbs in a physical work environment. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Most work is done inside a warehouse, but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes and dust, which may cause noticeable discomfort.

- Computer experience.

- Knowledge related to and/or experience with machinery and tools is a plus.
- Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
- Relevant: 1 year (Preferred)
- Reach Truck: 1 year (Preferred)
License:
- Certified Forklift Operator (Preferred)
Job Duties:
- Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guidelines and procedures
- Receive/process shipments
- Use common warehouse management software
- Follow current good warehousing practice
- General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned
- Rotate floor stock
- Spot tractor trailers
- Keep production lines supplied with empty containers and packaging materials as needed
- Move and stack materials
- Load and unload trucks
