SUMMARY & MISSION STATEMENT:
Midwest Food Bank (MFB) is a national non-profit organization with 10 divisions in the U.S. and 2 operations internationally. MFB operates with a $450 million budget distributing food and disaster relief boxes to 2200 agencies. The Texas division is growing and looking to add exceptional talent to its team. We are looking for a highly motivated team member to support the operations of our 35,000 square foot warehouse, serving more than 100 food agencies and distributing $25 million of food each year.

JOB ROLE PURPOSE & SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Manager provides direction, coordination, development, and planning of all warehouse activities for the division. The Warehouse Manager is the division’s safety champion and the key leader for all safety and cleanliness issues related to food, products, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the daily workflow of food in and out of the warehouse to procure and distribute <$25 million annually with support of Operations role/Executive Director.
- Lead volunteers during loadout distributions and preparing for distributions as needed.
- Supervise and support volunteers in the warehouse and oversee all food, product, and equipment handling to confirm MFB’s quality standards are met.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions inside and outside of the warehouse and trucks, including product inspections, equipment upkeep, and grounds maintenance.
- Advise Volunteer role on volunteer opportunities, such as shift schedules, capacities, and group projects, to plan volunteer assignments and follow up on progress.
- Collaborate with Operations/Agency/Volunteer roles and ensure load-ins and loadouts are executed with safe use of the facilities, equipment, employees, and volunteers.
- Verify all paperwork and in-/outload logs are completed in a precise and timely manner.
- Communicate updates and provide reports to the Operations role/Executive Director as needed.

- Ensure compliance with all MFB policies, procedures, and rules and with all contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and relevant laws.
- Recruit, identify, train, and continue to nurture volunteers in support of job role.
- Network with peers locally and nationally and across the MFB organization.
- Support Operations Manager with daily workflow of food in and out.
- Execute on creating a great volunteer experience for daily ops, bulk groups.
- Lead bulk projects
- Lead pallet building groups on varying days & times.
- Pull Product for pallet builds bulk projects.
- Box Truck driving for product pickup. (Local) (Non-CDL)
- Verify Primarius (inventory software platform) info is correct on both in-loads, and out-loads.
- Maintaining inventory accuracy for both in-loads, and out-loads on Primarius.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions inside & outside of the warehouse.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions for trucks.
- Pulling product for pallet builds, bulk projects, and box building projects.
- Maintaining product is slotted correctly in the warehouse.
- Communicating updates and provide daily feedback to the Operations Manager.
- Willing to work some evenings and some weekends.
- Working with stand-up, sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, pulling items the day prior for next day operations.
- Proactive approach to engaging with volunteers.
- Leading various teams on warehouse floor during normal/daily operations, i.e., inbound team, outbound team.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-years relevant work experience, 5-years desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current class A CDL or willing to obtain class A CDL.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment, logistics, and food storage desired.
- Demonstrated ability to lead volunteers and achieve results through others.
- Proven initiative, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent professional communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to use technology or learn computer skills, such as Office 365 and GeoTab.
- Willingness to participate in training that may include development of professional skills, education on MFB’s policies and procedures, and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods of standing and movement in a warehouse and truck dock setting; periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office setting.
- Minimal travel in-state; out-of-state travel as needed; infrequent evening and weekend obligations.
- May include exposure to noisy conditions, working conditions with dust, fumes, and weather.
