Warehouse Manager
Reports to: Owner/General Manager
Primary Purpose of Job
Manage the operations of the warehouse to provide the highest level of service to construction, service, and retail department personnel.
Job Duties
1. Manage operations of the warehouse:
a. Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
1. Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with book inventory.
2. Oversee the physical inventory to assure accuracy and availability of products to meet department needs.
3. Utilize procedures and create new when necessary for timely supply of orders.
4. Pick and pack orders for other departments as given.
b. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design
layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for
replacement, and keep building and grounds in good order.
1. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
c. Ensure proper tools and equipment (trucks, pumps, vacs, hand tools, etc.) are clean and in
good working order.
- Create and monitor maintenance procedures for fleet vehicles.
2. Ensure compliance with safety and security policies and procedures
a. Ensure all required notices are posted (Employment/Wage and Hour Laws, OSHA)
b. Educate staff on the location of MSDS sheets
c. Review and educate employees using the company Hazard Communication program including proper storage, transporting, and handling of chemical products
d. Ensure first aid supplies are available and employees know where they are located
3. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing special requests as needed.
4. Collaborate with owner/general manager and other department heads to facilitate effective
systems, inventory selection and control, pricing and excellent customer service.
Job Requirements
- 3 years or more experience in warehousing, management preferred.
- 2 years experience utilizing a computer based inventory control system.
Other Requirements:
- Solid computer skills in a Windows environment.
- Strong customer orientation
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license and forklift driver certification
- Experience managing others and strong supervisory skills helpful
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
