The Warehouse Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the work of employees who load and/or unload material within the warehouse while ensuring safety and security of employees, equipment, and product.
- Assign work to Employees and follow up on results
- Lead the training and cross training of designated personnel
- Monitor production and safety of personnel in department with strict adherence to all safety and security procedures
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of processes and procedures for shipping and receiving functions; ensuring process are being followed
- Ensure QC is completed for all inbound/outbound orders
- Create shipping labels in world ship for UPS and FedEx
- Oversees the utilization and maintenance of pallet jacks, forklifts, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material within the warehouse
- Oversee Housekeeping and 5S activities including daily cardboard disposal into compactor and trash removal
- Load and Unload containers and trailers using forklift and other equipment
- Assist in stock control and reconciliation with WMS
- Scan product into WMS; puts product away in racks
- Ensure accurate reporting as assigned by Manager such as inbound/outbound count and inspection logs and BOLs
- Ensure completion of required information in the WMS to close out inbound/outbound orders
- Ensure paperwork has been filed for inbound/outbound orders each day
- Sign off on overages, shortage and damage for inbound/outbound orders and reports issues
- Correspond with PM and Ops manager regarding inbound/outbound orders, including any issues with product
- Attend periodic meetings with Management/Supervisors
- Complete required reports and print documents required for shipping and receiving
- Report any workplace issues to the attention of proper Management
- Assist with inventory and production as needed
- Other tasks as assigned
Skills and Specifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a lead/supervisory role
- 3 years of material handling experience; 1 year in a Logistics environment
- Forklift certification; minimum 2 years recent experience
- Experience using (WMS) warehouse management systems
- Prior experience using RF scan gun
- Excellent attention to detail
- Microsoft Office; must be experienced with Excel
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible to work overtime as required
Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time up to 12 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment including but not limited to pallet jack, motorized pallet jack, and dolly.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Follow all safety and security procedures
