Warehouse Lead (2Nd Shift)

Ryerson has an opportunity for an Area Shift Lead (2nd Shift). As an Area Shift Lead (2nd Shift), you are responsible for overseeing the warehouse team and assisting the 2nd Shift Supervisor with production and department goals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

•Ideal candidate will operate motorized material handling equipment such as an overhead crane, side-loader, and forklift
•It is also a requirement that when short-handed or during periods of high demand, Leadership is responsible to be self-aware and fill in where needed
•Responsible for training staff to ensure they are fully trained for the tasks they are performing. Coaches, mentors, counsels, and develops
•Effectively leads pre-shift safety and production huddles with team
•Enforces a safety-first culture correcting unsafe conditions and unsafe acts. Ensure corrective actions are carried out to eliminate workplace hazards
•Reacts to machinery breakdowns by directing repairs when possible, arranging for outside repairs or reassignment of personnel as needed
•Assume short-term responsibility for management absences as requested

Position Requirements:

•3-5 years of experience
•Experience operating equipment and ability to recognize materials in service center
•Possesses leadership abilities and has a desire to advance and solid interpersonal communication skills required
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
•Flexible, dependable, and solutions-oriented
•Successfully pass the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.49 per hour
