Job description

Where You Will Work:

Clearwater Paper’s Las Vegas facility produces through-air-dried (TAD) ultra-premium bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. Boasting over 200 talented employees, the Las Vegas location sits on 23 acres and uses state-of-the-art technology, automation, and a variety of equipment such as laser-guided vehicles. Clearwater Paper employees are proud to manufacture a high-quality product for an essential industry.

Located within the Mojave Desert, North Las Vegas sits just northeast of Las Vegas as the 4th largest city in the state of Nevada. The city offers an extensive park and recreation program including 34 parks that cover more than 475 acres of developed parkland. Recently completed Southern Nevada’s Neon to Nature regional trail system includes 10 miles used for hiking, biking, and leisurely strolls. North Las Vegas offers several opportunities for social and civic involvement including Three Square Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley, and Clark County 4H. North Las Vegas offers a strong K-12 school district (Clark County School District) including 5 high schools and several elementary and middle schools. What You Will Do:

The Distribution Associate is responsible for handling different products and materials around the plant. Associates are expected to navigate equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks in a safe and timely manner, ensuring product is moved efficiently within and between departments.

  • Unload material and product from incoming vehicles and distribute to assigned locations
  • Ensure inventory is accurately tracked and managed
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of broke rolls/bale trailers
  • Determine load availability and placement of tailers on dock to maintain smooth and efficient operation of docks.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Responsible for daily truck maintenance inspection, logging and determining the need for repairs
  • Communicate with other departments including Converting, Maintenance, and Paper Machine
  • Able to move and work efficiently in different areas of the Warehouse as needed
  • Maintain systems on unitizer, clean and adjust as required. Correct all jams or operating problems at unitizer, conveyors, and stretch wrapper.
  • Able to reset Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs)
  • Keep up with daily load production volume
  • Hold self and others to high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, safe driving practices, appropriate PPE, etc.)
  • Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root cause
  • Maintain a clean working environment by complying with procedures and housekeeping responsibilities including daily lift blowdowns
  • Knowledge of trailer LOTO procedures (trailer stands, glad hand locks)
  • Safely empty trash hoppers in compactors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all waste hopper identification
  • Properly store non-hazardous chemicals in warehouse and understand emergency procedures if needed

What You Will Need:

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Industrial or Distribution experience (preferred)
  • Prior forklift or clamp truck experience (preferred)
  • Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
  • Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally.
  • Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
  • Must be capable of working a rotating 12-hour schedule each month, alternating between day and night shifts. Throughout this time be available weekends, and Holidays & able to work overtime as needed.
