Position Summary:The Warehouse Associate at our medical device facility plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of medical supplies and equipment. This position involves receiving, storing, and distributing medical devices while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Essential Functions:
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments of medical devices.
- Safely and securely store medical supplies in designated areas within the warehouse.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment to healthcare facilities and customers.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies using inventory management software.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and expiration dates.
- Monitor and report any issues or damage to medical devices to the warehouse supervisor.
- Adhere to quality control procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner.
- Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including regular cleaning and sanitation of work areas.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Required Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably in the healthcare or medical device industry.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical devices and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely, up to 50 pounds.
- Experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adherence to strict confidentiality and privacy guidelines related to medical information.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
- Adherence to safety protocols and regulations, including handling hazardous materials if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in forklift operation and handling hazardous materials.
- Experience with FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the medical device industry.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
