General Summary
Monitors and controls all Distribution Center stock movements to ensure that the system’s perpetual inventory correctly reflects the actual physical inventory. Under the supervision of the Supervisor the clerk is also responsible for accurately processing all information in the system related to inventory transfers, billing of client orders, credits, and track trays, pallets, and cardboard per established Procedures.
Essential Functions
- Answer telephone and set appointments for incoming trucks.
- Accurately bills out customer orders.
- Accurately processes customer returns and credits.
- Professionally communicate with customers as needed, regarding short product or short code dates.
- Ensure the office is kept clean and organized daily.
- Enter correct quantities from paperwork into SAP.
- Communicate via email when receiving a PO with any and all discrepancies.
- Prior to receiving the POs in the system ensure to crosscheck vs. hard copy.
- Accurately controls receiving, delivering, and transferring of materials within Company system.
- Manages and coordinate month end inventories and reconciliations.
- Investigates and researches inventory variances for reconciliation purposes.
- Comply with all Safety and Food Safety policies.
- Keep good communication with supervisor and management team.
- Ensure that all paperwork is processed correctly in the SAP system.
- Provides physical inventory reports to management as required; identifying potential issues.
- Understands the appropriate requirements in the use of expiration dates and material rotation, by exp. dates. FIFO METHOD (First in/First out)
- Type and generate any necessary reports on a daily basis.
- Be aware of any discrepancies or problems that can occur during the daily operation and notify the management staff, while at the same time assisting with the supervisors and managers to resolve the problems.
- Ensures all food safety principles and legal requirements have been applied effectively.
- Participates in monthly communication meetings with supervisor, lead, and management.
- Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promotes teamwork.
- Ensures compliance with the Preventive Controls and AIB gold standard.
- Conducts work in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements.
- Must work various shifts and hours including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Experience: 1 to 3 years of clerical experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
