Warehouse Associate

Overview of Position:

The Warehouse Associate will report to and work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor.

• This position is responsible for assisting in all areas relating to receiving, unloading, shipping, picking, packing, and fulfilling operations.
• As part of our customer service effort, periodically the person in this role may be required (with assistance/training) to assemble and install "add on" accessories, for example sensors, emergency batteries, cords, plugs, etc. as part of their responsibilities.
• Key accountabilities are accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on safety, timely shipments, accuracy, product protection, and customer service.
• The Warehouse Associate will be required to arrange parcel and LTL pick-up and transport services between our suppliers and our customers across the country.
• Will be required to perform physical labor, including lifting (50lbs at times), pushing, climbing, and handling various products and materials.
• To promote excellent customer service and attention to customer needs as well as internal efficiencies, this person must work in conjunction with other associates within the company to help streamline processes and improve accuracy across the company.
• Must be able to deal professionally, effectively, and efficiently with problems and issues.
• Gaining general knowledge of Warehouse-Lighting products and processes is important in this position.
• Must be able to communicate well with fellow employees, logistic vendors, and suppliers to assure a smooth workflow and clear line of communication to optimize customer service and communication.

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly while maintaining safety
• Prefer 3+ years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to complete forklift certification course
• Experience with shipping software, processes, forms, and best practices
• Comfortable with systems and software including NetSuite a plus, MS Office, databases, and carrier portals
• Experience with a pick/pack/ship fulfillment-type operation
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines as requested

Responsibilities/General Job Description:

• Team with Warehouse Supervisor to attain 100% accuracy on pick tickets, shipments, receiving, inventory, freight claims and all other documents
• Identify and improve processes to increase efficiency and minimize mistakes
• Work closely with Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager to roll out any new initiatives and to ensure compliance requirements are met
• Periodically physically unload truckload containers of incoming products
• Maintain inventory integrity within our system by making sure all inventory transactions are accounted for in the database
• Lift and move objects consistently while unloading, loading, packing, packaging, and organizing the facility
• Strive for safety, for example, organize warehouse and keep it clear of clutter
• Occasionally some light “add on” installation and/or assembly will be required.
• Work Environment: The Warehouse Associate may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable and cramped positions, or on ladders
• Interact with staff and customers
• Attention to detail is critical!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
