JOB DESCRIPTION
The Warehouse Assistant consistently displays the work ethic and models the behaviors conducive to the desired DREMC culture and attributes. The Warehouse Assistant position exists to support the Field Services Manager to ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost to the members of the Cooperative by effectively performing the job dimensions described below.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Responsibility - The Warehouse Assistant is accountable for unloading and loading trucks, stocking materials, making deliveries to the DREMC offices, and maintaining proper documentation of receiving, transferring, and inventory. The Warehouse Assistant is accountable to the Field Services Manager for the efficient performance of these responsibilities and is encouraged to use initiative and good judgment in making decisions and keeping the Cooperative's best interest in mind. The Warehouse Assistant shall secure approval from the Field Services Manager in making decisions when policies are not clear or require interpretation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education - A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience - Inventory control, warehouse management, and/or forklift operation is preferred.
Certification/License, etc. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee Driver's License with a Class A or B endorsement. Must be eligible and remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative's group liability policy for the automotive fleet. Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must maintain a continued education that supports the Cooperative's goals. Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to deal with a variety of internal and external contacts. Ability to stand, and walk; frequently sit, bend, stoop, squat, lift, and carry between 75-100 pounds; push and/or pull; reach above shoulder level; and twist; to climb, balance, kneel, crouch.

- Ships and receives from various suppliers and documents any damage to shipments.
- Using inventory management software, transfer materials from Shelbyville HQ warehouse to other DREMC Offices.
- Assists other Warehouse Assistants with loading and unloading trucks.
- Assists in performing PCB oil testing on transformers and other oil-filled equipment.
- Assists in maintaining proper documentation and decommissioning equipment as needed.
- Works directly with outside vendors with repairs on transformers, reclosures, and regulators.
- Maintains and updates documentation of equipment repairs in Smart MinMax database.
- Responsible for building maintenance at HQ, Annex, and DREMC medical clinics. Duties include but are not limited to the following: HVAC filter inspection and replacement, replacement of light bulbs, replacement of water filters, and cleaning and inspecting gutters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must offer and solicit feedback daily.
