Position Summary:
The Warehousing & Distribution Logistics Manager plans, organizes, and monitors the End-to-End operations for Straumann’s warehousing and Distribution operation in Andover, MA. This leader will ensure a smooth and consistent operation so dental implants and supplies are located and distributed in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. In additional to delivering daily key results (Safety, Quality, Service Levels, FDA Compliance, staffing/retention, cost, etc.) this role is accountable to developing and implementing a long-range warehouse vision, strategies, and tactics. Systemic tools such as SAP, Lean, 6 sigma, and project mgmt. will be used to engage and drive all levels of the organization in achieving the vision.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Provides daily oversight and direction for the Warehouse and digital operations.
• Responsible for goods receipt, storage, picking & packing, inventory control, accurate shipment of goods and analysis in an FDA regulated medical device and digital environment.
• Provides leadership and development to a team of warehouse leaders and staff.
• Fosters an environment that coincides with our core values and pillars.
• Develops accuracy/quality metrics and reporting for picking, packing and goods receipt areas.
• Focuses the team on providing best-in-class customer service.
• Develops and sustains discipline to processes, productivity measures/KPIs, and quality controls.
• Reviews, tracks, and analyzes critical success measures and compares the results with the targets on a regular basis.
• Develops presentations and communicates results to senior leadership monthly and quarterly for warehousing and digital departments.
• Evaluates the leaders and associates’ performance while providing developmental plans, conducts regular 1:1 conversation, and develops/delivers performance reviews.
• Enforces compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety roles and government regulations.
• Constant collaboration with the supply chain Industrial Engineering (IE) and BEST team for continuous improvement and cost saving ideas.
• Analyzes current and future needs of the company as it relates to the management of receiving, stocking, inventory, returns, shipping, and order filling; develops and recommends improvements to current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and lower costs.
• Creates a safety culture that promotes a safe working environment that follows 5S principles.
• Develops the annual operational budget (Capex/Opex) and manages operations to meet departmental and organizational goals.
• Daily communication and partnership with HQ, Customer Service, Sales Support, Supply Chain, Training and Regulatory Teams.
• Develops effective relationships with internal and external partners.
• Partners with HR and Talent Acquisition on staffing and retention plans
• Seeks out opportunities to partner with cross functional teams to achieve goals.
• May travel up to 10%.

Management Responsibilities:
This position manages the following positions:
(3-4) Exempt Warehouse Supervisors, (3-4) Team Leads, (4-6) Sr Specialists, (4) Digital Coordinators and (60) Warehouse Associates
Physical Attributes:
• May sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Traverse long distances through the building.
• Push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Bend, crouch and reach continuously while performing required job tasks.
• Spend significant time reading both on paper and on a computer.
Work Environment:
• General Warehouse and office environment.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or 5+ years relevant warehouse/distribution management and leadership experience.
• 2+ years of increasing warehouse leadership roles.
• 3+ years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven ability to manage and lead teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive, influence and inspire change at all levels.
• Experience with or the ability to learn SAP.
• Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt.
• Experience in a medical device environment.
• Experience with warehouse Pick 2 Light and/or similar.
• Strong knowledge and experience with FDA regulations, quality control, and CAPA/NCR processes.
• Excellent analytical and Excel skills, with the ability to create KPIs and tracking tools.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills to reliably respond to urgent situations.
• High level of personal accountability and experience creating an accountability structure for their team.
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral, written and communication/presentation skills.
• Proven Project Management Experience.
