DW Distribution an SBP Brand is currently looking for a VP of Sales to join our VALUES based organization. The VP of Sales has responsibility for the successful design, plan, coordination and direction of the company’s sales. Working with Leadership, the VP of Sales has a broad range of authority in setting strategy for the company, for the purposes of growing the company’s sales, contribution margin, net income and market share. The VP of Sales will lead and coach the sales team and work collaboratively with others to achieve the company’s goals.
Essential Functions:
Executive Management
- Contribute to the strategic and business planning process, including providing recommendations on sales strategy for the organization.
- Analyze company sales, identifying areas that can be made more cost-effective.
- Holds direct and indirect reports accountable for attracting, selecting, developing, engaging, and retaining great teammates; evaluate talent to identify leadership successors.
- Prepare and present forecasts for future business concerns related to their areas of responsibility, and reports on their impact on company policies and operations.
- Participate in strategic sales and marketing planning, implementation, and execution as a member of the senior management team.
- Embrace a team oriented culture for solving problems, making changes, leading improvements and measuring effectiveness.
- Ensure that proactive, effective communication exists amongst the sales and marketing team, and from the sales and marketing team to other functional divisions.
- Establish a comprehensive training plan to be executed with the sales and marketing group.
- This role will be directing the sales department as the Director of Sales.
Strategy & Planning
- Prepare a long-term plan corporate development, based on business goals and input.
- Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future.
- Monitor and analyze trends in contractual agreements in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings.
- Develop, implement, and enforce appropriate policies.
Sales Management
- Adopt and fine tune the business sales strategy to sell and grow a profitable mix of business to existing and new customers and existing new products.
- Develop sales programs to improve the company’s customer penetration with new and existing accounts.
- Provide consistent market data and analysis to the team on the status of the business, making recommendations for continually improving sales, profits and market share.
- Plan and lead company’s sales expansion into all new geographic territories
- Maintain existing customer relationships and create new customer relationships.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Experience:
- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years in executive or senior-level management role, leading a sales and marketing function within an organization
- Knowledge of the building supply and millwork industry is highly preferable
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements.
