POSITION SUMMARY
The VP of Education reports to the Executive Director and working in collaboration and coordination with the Executive Director is responsible for:
● Overall planning, organization, development, supervision, direction and coordination of the ongoing operations of HWH to fulfill our Mission and achieve the planned outcomes.
● Identifying, developing, and overseeing the integrity of Education programs, services and resources to support HWH students
● Organization metrics related to inputs and outcomes, ensuring all budget goals are met or exceeded
● Establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
● Reinforce and maintain the 4 pillars of a trauma sensitive workspace: trustworthiness, transparency, empowerment and safety
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in collaboration and coordination with the Executive Director, help develop and implement the strategies and activities listed below.
Leadership:
● Supervise members of 4 departments (Culinary Education, Case Management, Employment Coaches, Outreach/Recruiting)
● Provide leadership and direction for all personnel including job expectations, training, mentoring, coaching, reviews and evaluations
● Develop strategic organizational objectives - incorporate feedback from the staff, clients, partners and the board in developing those strategies. Monitor and report regularly on the implementation of those strategies and progress toward achieving objectives.
● Recruit, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees
● Managing different teams to foster an exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities
● Inspire and motivate employees through positive encouragement
● Identify and implement appropriate staff training and professional development
● Understanding and managing to budget
Operations:
● Develop, document, train, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures for the staff and operations.
● Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements
● Identify potential problems and points of friction and finding solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue
● Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
● Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
● Manage relationships with key operations vendors and partners; track vendor pricing, rebates, and service levels
● Lead and manage profitable Social Enterprise Revenue for the organization, including product design, sales, marketing, production and fulfillment of revenue that exceeds $100k/year.
● Manage electronic records in an organized manner for HWH.
Other: Must possess own transportation, have a good driving record, maintain a valid driver’s license and provide proof of insurance coverage that meets agency coverage standards; possess basic computer skills and be able to work virtually. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Compensation
This position will have an annual salary of $67-70K. Full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
● 10+ years of related experience with a proven track record of successful operational leadership, including management of people, finances and programs. Demonstration of building effective, multi-faceted teams is essential.
● Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
● Strong knowledge of Google Office Programs and databases is essential.
