The Position:
The VP of Human Resources, reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, will establish the human capital strategy in support of an aggressive growth agenda for this family owned and values driven company.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Lead, develop and grow the HR function in alignment with values and company growth plans. Coach, evaluate, support and reward HR team members.
- Develop strategies and processes for attracting and developing a talented workforce committed to our growth and our values.
- Develop highly effective processes and techniques for improving employee engagement with an emphasis on retention of hourly employees.
- Collaborate with company leaders to instill a culture aligned with Barrett’s vision and values.
- Lead company-wide programs for delivering effective feedback, performance improvement, and leader development.
- Develop a Total Rewards strategy that attracts, retains and motivates top talent.
- Design great employee experiences by collecting, analyzing, and reporting themes from employee feedback.
- Define and establish HR metrics to evaluate and manage the efficacy of our HR programs.
- Ensure employee relations and investigations are timely, fair and accurate.
- Build strong relationships with organizational stakeholders through regular check-ins and effective change management.
- Serve as talent and organizational adviser to leadership teams.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Ten or more years of experience leading an HR team and working in various HR areas, with the ability to align HR practices to organizational strategy and objectives.
- Experience with both blue collar (hourly) and white collar (exempt) workforces is required.
- Experience in third party logistics or supply chain is preferred.
- Able to operate in a multi-state environment, possessing knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, along with local practices.
- Understands the organization's value proposition and can articulate how we serve our customers.
- Expert leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Able to champion new ideas, manage change, and execute action plans with an emphasis on employee engagement and retention.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to make decisions based on people analytics.
- Comfort with adaptability, ambiguity, and shifting priorities.
- Ability to develop a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Experience managing an enterprise HCM system is required with a preference for experience with Dayforce.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis
