What You Will Do
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic finance professional to join our executive team as the Vice President of Finance, a key player in driving the financial strategy of ETG. The ideal candidate is a strategic finance partner with a proven track record in the manufacturing sector, particularly with experience in navigating the complexities and related protocols associated with contracts in the defense, aviation, and aerospace-related industries. The contributions at the divisional level will directly impact Standex’s overall growth. Demonstrating success in leadership and optimizing financial performance could lead to recognition and other potential opportunities to contribute at a higher organizational level within ETG and across Standex International.
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Proactively develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, including those supporting both commercial and manufacturing activities.
- Provide financial guidance to support long-term business planning and decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- In alignment with Corporate objectives, oversee the budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational priorities and business metrics.
- Develop comprehensive financial forecasts to guide business operations, including regular communication touchpoints with the Corporate CFO and Finance group.
- Act as a partner to the leadership team to develop proactive strategies to achieve budgeted targets.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports to the executive team and corporate parent. Given the Company’s revenue recognition method (predominantly percentage of completion, over time accounting), work closely with site financial teams to identify and review key assumptions supporting revenue recognition.
- Maintain a transparent and robust financial reporting system including identifying and managing improvements to the company’s ERP system.
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for mitigation.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Implement efficient working capital management practices.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the company’s capital program, including review of proposals for new equipment and serving as the financial resource to develop return metrics for the modeling of new opportunities, and managing the utilization of the company’s allocated capital budget.
Financial Controls:
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Government Contract Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, especially in the context of defense contracts.
- Oversee contract accounting and reporting requirements.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and President of business to provide financial insights and guidance.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
M&A:
- Partners with Corporate Strategy/M&A to evaluate potential strategic portfolio opportunities that drive long term value for the business.
- Collaborates with Corporate M&A to provide financial analysis and modeling to ensure potential transactions are financially sound and meet corporate and business strategic growth objectives.
- Key participant in the due diligence process, ensuring all relevant finance and accounting related items are reviewed in alignment with the company’s due diligence process.
- Key participant on the business integration team to ensure successful integrations (financially, operationally, and culturally) of new businesses into the group.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in the manufacturing industry with a minimum of 5 years within aviation, defense, and aerospace.
- Demonstrated experience with M&A due diligence and integration.
