Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the finance and accounting department
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance
- Create and manage five-year business plans along with department managers
- Manage the preparation of all financial reports
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Maintains and reviews budgeting and forecasting models
- Ensure adherence to budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal
- Supervise financial planning and budget management functions
- Manage the composition of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
- Aid in developing department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures- Take ownership of insurance and risk management
- Hire, train, and retain finance staff
- Develop financial analysis prior to contract negotiations and product investment decisions
- Develop and monitor an organizational structure in order to accomplish department goals and objectives- MBA or CPA is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Experience with multiple accounting and financial reporting systems
- 10+ years of Finance and accounting experience
- Prior experience with finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical thinking and a detail-oriented mindset
