Position Summary
As a key member of the leadership team, the Vice President of Accounting will manage the Company's core accounting functions including loan portfolio management, accounts payable management, taxation, general accounting, cash management, and financial reporting. They will be responsible for preparing budgets and financial projections. This individual will report to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate with other teams including Finance, Legal, HR and IT. This position is onsite management and collaboration from our offices located in downtown Greenville, SC.

Knowledge

• Applies accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. Critical areas include revenue recognition, estimates for expected credit losses, lease accounting, provision for income taxes and valuation of intangible assets.

Process Automation

• Uses technology to ensure efficient and effective processes for timely and accurate financial reporting, vendor processing and account reconciliation. Ability to lead system implementations and participate automation initiatives.

Communication

• Effectively communicates and collaborates with subordinates, peers, senior management and able to work with an international team to ensure alignment on strategy and execution.

Education Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA license required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience Required
10+ years' experience in financial reporting and accounting management is required. Experience in accounting systems and process automation is required. Experience in Big Four firms or a public accounting company is required. Financial services industry experience is required.
Knowledge Required
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to a changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must have a deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS and capable of detecting the differences between them. Knowledge of ERP and financial systems required. Knowledge of federal, state, and local taxes required.
Ability to interpret, apply and communicate complex accounting concepts is required.
