Volunteer Experience Coordinator (Part Time, 24 Hours/Wk)

This position supports the effective operation of all aspects of the Volunteer Experience including volunteer recruitment, placement, and recognition for JA signature education programs, such as Jim’s JA BizTown®, JA Finance Park®, JA Titan Student Business Challenge®, and JA Career Speakers panel.  Will also support the recruitment and training of volunteers for classroom-based JA programming.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all accounts that are 5+ years old.
• Work closely with business/college liaisons to support JA volunteer needs.
• Keep detailed records of volunteer information.
• Conduct volunteer trainings, as needed.
• Provide 1 month and 2-week check-in’s leading up to volunteer event.
• Coordinate with reception to reserve conference room lunch space.
• Take picture of volunteers and submit to Marketing for social media posting. 
• Collect/Review volunteer surveys.
• Send thank you follow-up emails to volunteers.
• Hold Debrief & Strategy Meetings with liaison (at least once per year).
• Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (database, email, social media, cold-calling, canvasing, etc.)
• Serve as Capstone volunteer, if significantly short on volunteers.
• Facilitate volunteer trainings/Lunch N’ Learn Presentations (in-person and/or virtually)
• Contact schools to provide staff volunteer support, as needed.
• Attend Corporate/College Volunteer Fairs as needed.
• Support Statewide events (JA Business Challenge, Hall of Fame, Holiday Auction)
• Support EOG, as needed.
• Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associate degree or combination of education and experience. Superb organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office) and data management. Capable of working independently. Ability to prioritize tasks. Competency in or willingness to learn computer-based programs. Must have valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
