Executive Summary
Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers. Moeller is nationally recognized for its House System and continues to be a leader in the integration of technology. Moeller is one of the premier athletic programs in the country, including 40 (team) state & 24 runner-up championships and 28 (individual) state championships in the 63-year history.
Moeller is seeking a VolleyballHead Coachto join our Moeller Family, which includes +700 dedicated student-athletes, a dynamic faculty & staff, and +12,000 passionate alumni to continue the tradition of success on the field of play and the development of remarkable men off it.
Responsibilities
The Head Coach is responsible for all facets of the volleyball program. This includes helping each student-athlete achieve a high level of skill and sportsmanship, as well as living out Moeller’s Mission and Core Values: Build the Family, Hold the Door, Earn the Shield. Additional duties related to the program include scheduling and coaching practice; leading the volleyball budget; supervising assistant coaches; and meeting OHSAA and Moeller High School rules and responsibilities. Excellent communication with players, parents, coaches, alumni, administration, OHSAA and the entire Moeller Family is critical to the success of this role. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to Moeller’s Mission and Core Values. Additional duties and responsibilities will be included and may include administrative duties as assigned by the athletics director.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have led, taught and coached successfully at the high school or college level.
- In addition to coaching, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to foster meaningful relationships with adolescents, the capacity to provide mentoring and character development, strong leadership skills, and will be ready to work in an immersive and dynamic high school community.
- Candidates will possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree and work in relevant positions for 10+ years
- Excellent communication skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships across a wide range of constituencies, including students, parents, coaches, alumni, donors, media, OHSAA, and administration.
