Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The visual communications team member is responsible for design content to help support all stages of the marketing process steward of brand standards, presentations on an as needed basis executing projects from concept to completion. As a part of the marketing team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our firm’s visual brand identity and creating compelling visual communications for our clients both internally and externally.
TYPICAL DUTIES
- Work closely with the Visual Communication and Brand Leader as an integral part of the team, managing and elevating the HED brand in visual communications.
- Execute a wide variety of graphic tasks both large and small, from concept to implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and marketing professionals, to develop innovative and visually appealing design solutions that align with project goals and client expectations.
- Design and create various marketing collateral, including presentations, proposals, advertisements, data visualization/infographics, and digital assets, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality deliverables.
- Translate complex concepts and technical information into visually engaging and easy-to-understand graphics and illustrations.
- Work independently to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering exceptional design work with minimal oversight.
- Support corporate leadership on an as needed basis
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional visual communication or graphic design experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or related industry.
- Expertise in the Adobe Suite of programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Power Point and Acrobat, with a strong portfolio showcasing mastery of these tools.
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and color theory, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to take a project from concept to completion, demonstrating strong creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate design concepts to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- A personal portfolio that contains a strong and varied design approach, as well as specific examples of fully realized and produced graphic projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Capable of traveling to and from external office sites.
- Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
- Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
- Ability to carry a minimum of 30 pounds.
