VISITOR SERVICESSENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / REDWOOD COAST SECTOR
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. The Redwood Coast Sector of California State Parks has multiple openings for Visitor Services Senior Park Aides. This is a seasonal (temporary non-testing) position. The positions will have variable start and end dates but generally run from early May through Labor Day or shortly thereafter.
Positions are available at Sue-meg State Park - Trinidad, CA/Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park; Gold Bluffs Beach, and Elk Prairie - Orick, CA
This position will work under the direction of the State Park Peace Officer , Supervising Ranger for Sue-meg and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. The Senior Park Aide is responsible for providing quality customer service, answering visitor questions via phone or in person, and explaining rules and regulations. Job duties include the following: Training, coordinating and leading Visitor Service Park Aides in the kiosk; work cooperatively with park staff, and volunteers for optimal visitor center operations. In addition, the Senior Park Aide must be proficient in basic use of a computer to download camping reservations; operate a cash register; report funds collected; and check work e-mail account. Must be able to work, holidays, weekends and special events.
Senior Park Aides must be able to work independently; follow instructions; use supplies and equipment required and provided by the job. If hired, Senior Park Aides must be willing to purchase and wear a uniform. A valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
Housing may be required.
